CuddleCot

Catherine Elizabeth Embly

On October 14, 2014 Renee and Rob Embly of Smithsburg, MD donated a CuddleCot to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown in honor of their daughter, Catherine Elizabeth Embly.

Meritus Medical Center is only the 5th hospital in the United States to have a CuddleCot.

A CuddleCot is a Moses basket with a cooling system that keeps the baby cool to slow deterioration, giving the family more time to spend with their baby.

They first became available in the United States in January 2014.

Megan and Brad Shutack have donated three CuddleCots to local hospitals in memory of their angels, Sophia Marie Shutack and Jack Alexander Shutack.  On July 17, 2015 they donated the first CuddleCot to Chambersburg Hospital.  They were able to donate two more CuddleCots to Waynesboro Hospital on August 12, 2015.  Their goal is to raise funds to donate CuddleCots to as many hospitals as possible.  You can help them pursue their goal by making a donation at www.gofundme.com/jack-sophia.
